Dan's Album Review:
How do I review an album that has been called the greatest rock album ever? This is the same reason I took all of my classical titles out of this database. Like I've got something new and fresh and relevant to say about Bach. Well, it's the same for the Beach Boys. Figure it out. People say this is real good. It's also so old it was originally recorded and released in mono. I first heard this album in it's entirety in 2004, and I instantly recognized all of the hits, but all of the non-hits sounded odd and campy and dated to me. There's something to be said for being able to hear music in it's historical context. If your familiar with that context, maybe spawned from it, then by all means, run out and get this. They have a version that repeats the entire album but split into stereo, too. If you aren't familiar with the context, just get the biggest, fattest "Best of" collection you can find and you'll likely get more use out of it. Track Listing:
