Dan's Album Review:

Starting in Alaska and moving to Portland, Oregon, 36 Crazyfists (What is that, anyway? A reference to a baseball bench clearing brawl? I have no idea, but I like it anyway) combines clean vocals and screams with a more aggressive version of the musical side of Nu-Metal and the thrash melodies of Gothenburg. All of the songs on this, their second release on Roadrunner, are quite excellent and diverse given the genre.

Standout tracks run thick on this release, from the embittered drive of "Skin and Atmosphere", to the pummelling doomishness of "Waterhaul" to the introspective, blunt, and woefully short "Song for the Fisherman". They also cut videos for "At the End of August" (which I haven't seen) and "Bloodwork" which was a fun little Chinatown ninja story that makes me glad these guys aren't all pain and suffering gloom.

I'm not sure why this isn't a 10. Sometimes I'm just moody.
