Dan's Album Review:

I'll be honest, I wanted this to be way better than it was. We're all familiar with Kelly and her brand of music. I read a short article on her about how she had to fight the label tooth and nail to get this released, how she took up instruments and actually wrote on all of these songs rather than just picking hits from the hit factory. Took a lot of balls. The lead off video intrigued me, along with that story, so if nothing else, I threw her the extra 15 bucks just to applaud her efforrts. It's about all I did. The song from the video loses it's lustre fast, and nothing else on this thing grabbed me at all. I guess I gave it a 4 because of the story, and it IS a good story. Ah well. Maybe in another couple records she'll not only have something artistically relevant to say (which this is a fine step towards becoming), but maybe the music will come up to par as well.
